A Real American Hero “The Kentucky Kid”
Today we lost Nicky Hayden aka “The Kentucky Kid”.
Nicky was a MotoGP world champion and represented America well, when competing a European dominated class of racing. This matters but then does not really matter.
He was one of the main reasons I was drawn to the sport. You love the sport but want to root for someone similar to you or from your part of the world. This was a kid from a small town in Kentucky competing at the highest level in the world and doing it in style.
In 2006 he won the highest of all honors and became a MotoGP Champion.

I won’t go into a full documentation of his racing history but here is a film about his time with Honda from a young age on to adult hood and some great clips of him and his family.

I met him once while he was riding for Ducati. Well I met him with about 200 other people
Thats him hanging with his buddy Rossi.
Its hard to describe the impact of Nicky’s career . These guys do an amazing job of putting to words want many people felt.
Well done beIN Sports USA!! Well done!
